Bed Push for Dr Gray's new garden

 
A Fancy Dress Bed Push is being organised by the Moray Healthy Working Lives Partnership and Elgin Rotary Club, in aid of the Sensory Garden being created at Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin
 
The charity event will take place on Sunday 15th August, 2010, from 2pm in Cooper Park, Elgin.  Money raised from the event will go towards purchasing lighting and water fountains for the sensory garden. Entries have to be in by 6th August.
 
"We hope to raise £1,500 for this special garden which will be a haven of peace at the heart of the hospital," says Helen Thompson, NHS Grampian lead for Moray Healthy Working Lives Partnership, who is leading on the garden project. "For this fun event we will provide entrants with the beds, and we'll be entering the push too."
 
"It's a very worthwhile cause," says Carol Stewart, Community Services Convenor at the Rotary Club, "and all you need is a team of five, over 16 years old, in fancy dress."
 
The push covers a course between the Library and the Grant Lodge in Cooper Park. Prizes will be awarded for the winning teams with additional prizes for the best fancy dressed team.

Local organisations dig deep
 
The fundraising event is the latest stage is a tremendous wave of support for the Sensory Garden.
 
"Many local firms, organisations and individuals have donated materials and funds to this special project and we are incredibly grateful," says Helen Thompson.
 
"We now have almost all the materials we need and are focusing on fundraising to pay for the labour to put all the essentials in place."
